I have already entered a lot of ip's & links in the "hosts" file to block advertising pop-ups in Win.XP, after opening the "hosts" file by using the "Notepad" program & saved it. Now, when I try to add more ip's & links in the "hosts" file it doesn't get saved & another text file is created with the same name. I wonder how did it get saved in the first instace. What do I need to do, to add more ip's & links in the "hosts" file & save it too ?
I am also not able to rename or delete the "hosts" file so that I can create another file with the same name & edit it. And as a "hosts" file is already present I can't create another file with the same name.
I have posted this question several times but no one seems to have the solution.
I beg, if you have the solution please help & for God's sake don't bluff if you don't know the right solution.

I actually like the thumbpoint when I think IBM first introduced it on their Thinkpads. But lately every notebook is about the trackpad. I don't like the trackpad because it somehow forces right hand usage on me. With the thumbpoint I don't have that feeling.

OK, I believe that I am winning my battle with computer addiction, but I still have a ways to go. There were months were I would do absolutely nothing but eat sleep, and play video games. I even have called into work so I could feed my gaming addiction.

After meeting someone, almost immediately gaming became very meaningless/pointless. I canceled my World of Warcraft account and even though I still have the account until July 17th, I haven't touched it in over a month, except for 5 min to give someone my 600+ gold I had on one of my characters.

The problem is that although I have completely broken free from gaming, I am stuck on yahoo answers as well as youtube.com and the internet in general I am supposed to be packing for my move at the end of the month at the moment...

As I typed this question I have relised the solution I must follow, I will pack up my computer...

It's so simple, of course after the move I'll possibly be back here once again but it's a start...

they gotta be free and i want the thing to be able to find and get rid of all the bad software on my pc spyware backdoors all that kinda stuff

I have a very huge problem. There is one website address I want to delete from the drop down list in the internet explorer browser but it's no use. I've tried Internet Options to clear history as well as clearing the drop down list as well but it resulted that all website addresses had been deleted except this one website address I want to delete before my wife finds out! It's also useless because I also tried Evidence Cleaner, Privacy Shield, and others I downloaded from Download.com which didn't work out. Help me and I promise to grant full 10 points if you've got a great solution to solve this life-threatening problem! Further information will be given if you ask.

Hi,

I have a laptop with CD R and DVD drive, Matshita. I have a fresh instal of WinXP Pro. My CD rom does not read all cds or dvds correctly. Esp audio CDs it gives does not read or even if it reads it get stuck after sometime. The CDs that give problems are ok because i tried them in other machines.

The CD drive also seems to be ok because I was able to instal Win XP thru the cd drive and also data cds work.

What might be the problem.

I am sitting with a windows 2003 server where i recently installed microsoft exchange 2003. My internal e-mail works but i cant get external emails. I need a 3rd party pop 3 connector.

I am using exchange server 2003 not sbs.
