Do you want to say Touchpad or Trackpoint?
If so I'd go with a Touchpad.(btw, I'm left handed and use it with my left hand with no problem whatsoever)
PS I found out what the Trackpad is on wiki:
The "trackpad" is Apple Computer's name for the touchpad. It was introduced in 1994 in the PowerBook 500 series, the first laptop ever to carry such a device, and replaced the trackball of previous PowerBook models. Latest Powerbook and iBook trackpads allow two finger usage for scrolling.
PPS Again on wiki:
The pointing stick (trademarked by IBM as the TrackPoint) or "nubbet" as it less commonly known, is a pointing device (compare especially Touchpad) for laptops invented by research scientist Ted Selker and is present on many brands of laptop, including IBM's line of ThinkPad laptops (now made by Lenovo) and Dell Latitudes. It has also been observed on computer mice, in blue or red.
Somehow I've never heard anyone talk about a pointing stick!? The joke must be on me

Nibs wear out on thumbpoint, and if you are a little sweaty, they can be a real bugger. The other problem is when the pointer keeps "walking" across the screen after you lift off your finger.
Also the trackpad requires much less force (almost none) and is much less likely to contribute to carpel tunnel syndrome.

The consulting firm that I had been employed with always issued us Thinkpads with the thumbpoint. I prefer this method of input device since any motion detected across the track pad will send the cursor flying across the screen.

Trackpad for precise the following causes a million.) It seems nicer 2.) Its more effective responsive 3.) won't be able to get stuck 4.) doesn't entice dirt (thats what occurs to the trackball, then it receives stuck) Definetly bypass with the trackpad!
