I have downloaded several download accelarators, but they don`t seem to be speeding up the downloading process.

usualy downoad manager accelerates the speed, when u r not surfing
u can also try to increase the number of connections in the same software

Try the Download Accelerator Plus....you can get the trial version from http://www.speedbit.com
The fact about download accelerators are that they work on the basis that when you try to download a file, they split the download size into four parts and try to locate the nearest servers which has these files. After locating the servers, it starts downloading each part of the file from each servers and after downloading all the parts, it finally merges and gives you as one file.
So principally, it works only for files which could be downloaded from multiple servers.

Use "Free Download Manager" Software. It good one with all the feature everybody wants.
