The rail category, that is. The preponderence of questions here surround train travel, booking information, schedules, etc., but the site is frequented by others for different reasons.

So, would it be a good idea to sub-divide the category, for example, to include, "Travel and Schedules", "Booking Information", "Historical", "Technical", "Operations" or some other sub categories?

a passenger train and a freight train leave at 10:30a.m. from stations that are 405 miles apart. The trains travel toward each other at a constant speed, the passenger train traveling 45mph faster than the freight train. if they pass each other at 1:30p.m., how fast is the passenger train traveling, in miles per hour?

that travels from Southern California strait through to Salt Lake City, UT.?

I've looked on a couple of sites and have found trains that go all over the place and then end up in Salt Lake but none of them direct.

I know there is also a big train station in Santa Ana, CA next to Tustin where I live. I don't have the slightest clue on the closest stations in Yucapai or the routes.

If you have worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in the past in a training status, however, you were not accepted, do you have any chance of ever being hired again? I want my job back, but, I was never offered an appeals process nor was I there long enough to join the Union. My dad is a local chairman for BLET but he says he can do nothing. Why is it every time I see freight trains in accidents that the freight car wheels/axle assembly is detached from the axle truck? Do the cars just sit on the axles and the axles are not secured to the wheel truck?
