Here's a quick illustration of what's going on. Go to a local Radio Shack store and buy a pack of donut-shaped magnets for a couple of bucks. Get a piece of dowel just big enough to fit through the holes. Put two magnets on the dowel with the same pole facing each other. The magnetic repulsion will cause the top magnet to levitate. Voila!

Magnetic forces, they have long tracks of electro magnetic rail, and the cars have the same thing, and they have the same charge, and same charges repel, get strong enough magnets, you get a floating train.
