then, in January furlough 23 people in Tampa alone, who knows what they did everywhere else. I wasn't one of the unfortunate ones b/c I have a little more senority than them, but these were young guys who just finished paying for conductor school (about $7,000 with all the expenses) and then had to go through 17weeks of training. When I say record earning, we're talking about billions -- Its bs, you got guys who left another job to come and basically get ****** by these sorry ***, money hungry executives who make decisions based on numbers and don't even consider all the men and families they are putting in jeporady... CSX and the other railroads may have pretty good pay and decent benefits but the games they play are ****** up-- its not like their loosing money or filing for bakruptcy or something --- sorry not really a question, but I needed to vent --- chime in and let me know what you think

Have you ever been caught by the railway police. I was once caught by them when I was 9 and with my mom and a friend we went to look at the CP Rail line near my house and there was no signage saying that it was property. It was a bike route as well.
So have you ever been caught?

I'd love to write a coffee-table book on the world's railroad museums. Right now I'm partial to the British Railway Musuem in York and the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. Which great museums would you like to see in the book?

Personally, I cannot wait for the smoking ban to come into effect, 1 July 2007. Although the platforms are technically "outdoors" the populace seems to use the platforms like ciggy sanctuaries, lighting up the minute they step off a train, or smoking like chimneys whilst waiting for a train. Still a platform is surely a public area, so will smoking on them be a thing of the past?
