Does the NYC MTA train turn around or just move back and forth.

Good question. And everyone is right the Subway trains can move back and forth but they do not have dual driving heads but each car has it own motors at each axle. And not all but alot of NYC lines are loops. So some times they dont need to back up but they can.

Each end of the run is a circle. So the train always moves forward.

Depends on witch train, some lines never actually stop, while others stop,& return. however all N.Y.C. subway cars have motors, & any-one of them can be the driver in either direction.
