Is it illegal or not-allowed for BNSF trains to block the morning / afternoon commutes?

So after reading the "What if trains are late" question I'm curious about something similar:

I have often had to stand for a good hour and a half on a train that is literally full, as in like a tube train full, no more space, everyone crammed in together all down the aisles etc...

Given that it tends to happen regularly (so they should now know to add another carriage or two) and that I don't feel like having to elbow through crowds just to make sure I don't spend 90 minutes like cattle, is there anything I can do?

I don't mind tube journeys so much, as they tend to be fairly short, but 90 minutes is ludicrus!

Now the railway companies have taken out the gaps in the tracks that made that distinctive noise when travelling by train, how does the track compensate for expanding and contacting as the temperature changes?

Early on January 16, 2006, two boys escaped from a juvenile detention home in Nelsonville, Ohio, (USA), broke into a building that houses a Hocking Valley Scenic Railway locomotive, and took the locomotive on a 12 mile joyride before being apprehended by police.

If we can’t secure a potential weapon of mass destruction from kids, how could we ever think our rail networks are safe from terrorists?

This industry has ignored the problem far too long and it’s high time our legislators stepped in to protect citizens. Enacting a rail security bill could have prevented most of this and other incidents, including a fatality due to train sabotage.

This is your wake up call, my friends. I would strongly urge everyone to contact your government representatives at all levels. I can assure you that an average freight train has a huge destructive potential, far in excess of what has been accomplished through the use of four commercial jetliners.

So, what will you do?

If some one does not have a ticket they get a fine, no questions asked. We have to put up with continual delays and cancellations. I was late for a job interview and looked like a real pratt because of a signal failure and got there late. There must be a way of getting refunds for this sort of thing, we pay good money to use a poor service. Even so called third world countries have better service, here as soon as you owe money they are onto you, ask for a service and you get minimall

way and stop over? For example, on the way to Seattle, if I want to stop in the Bay Area and a couple cities in Oregon for a few days, how do I buy a ticket? In increments or what? Or do I get a ticket from LA to Seattle and get on and off at my choosing? How does that work?

Is it worth getting a first class upgrade? soon i'm going to be getting a virgin train to brockenhurst from macclesfield, and a return. in total I could pay £25, but for £20 to £30 extra, I could get a first class upgrade, for all the trains and changes, both ways. Is it worth it for this 4 hour each way journey?

I am looking for model train shows - Lionel specifically - that may be held in San Jose or San Francisco, CA area. I have Lionel train pieces that are old that I would like to sell. If you don't know of any shows that are available does anyone know of a collector that may wish to purchase my trains.
