CSX is flying my boyfriend down to Jacksonville this week for a 4 hour interview. Has anyone gone through this and could let me know what he can expect. Is there anything he can do to prepare or anything he should know before the interview?
They finally seem to be moving on his app. He applied about 6 months ago and just a couple fridays ago got a phone interview. Last week they emailed him some tests and within 24 hours they called him for the interview.

Many did it in 1930's and some do it to this day. I feel like it's a good alternative to hitchhiking, but where do I start?
I need tips and pointers.

I mean, I understand the concept of stiffing your customers because you know they have to get to work, but at peak times in London, trains and tubes are rammed to the limit. It's a bit like charging you more in a restaurant because you are hungry.

Often I have to wait for a couple of trains before I can physically squeeze on- and I am only a little thing!

If mayor Ken wants people out of their cars, where can they go? The trains are full to bursting.

I read an article on Yahoo Reuters, that there is heavy speculation in the stock market that CSX may be bought out by another major U.S. railroad. This is just speculation, but the guys in the stocks said what is going on with CSX stocks, is a precursor to a possible buyout. Buyout by whom, nobody knows. Anybody know anything more about this?

While travelling on the London Underground recently I noticed that the poles inside the carriages (which commuters hold onto) are the same colour as the line the train is on (red poles for the red central line, for example). When I mentioned this to someone they told me that originally the actual tunnels were also lit with the colour of the line (green lighting for the green district line). Is this true? Why was it abandoned?

the correct answer is i have no idea the answer to this question i just randomly made it up and even if i did know the answer i wouldnt tell you because you have to figure it out on your own because if you dont your not very smart and that means that you are depending on people to make you look smart and im not going to and if you are still reading this you are very stupid but if you stop now you might not get to see the surprise at the end of my paragraph and you really don't want to miss it because if you do your life will never be the same and you might die from not knowing what i have to say and you wouldn't want to do that because then you would never be able to read another question like this ever again and you would never be able to answer another one either i hope you are preparing for my surprise its coming soon get ready its coming i hope you like it FLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a recent discussion of welded rail, a disagreement arose regarding how welded rail deals with thermal expansion. Some said the rails simply go into tension or compression and are held by the track; others said all this was absorbed by expansion joints like
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breather_switch
It became apparent that Americans favored the "tension" theory and the people floating the expansion-joint theory are from Europe.

So, do Europeans actually lay welded rail differently than Americans? Do they make widespread use of expansion joints, where America does not? (it is a fact that America does not.)

I bought a saver return ticket from London to Manchester, when I got on the return leg of the journey today 6.02 in the morning, I was forced to pay an extra £109 (on top of my original fare of £59.60) because my ticket was not valid for travel at that time of day. When I bought the ticket on the Virgin website, I was not informed of any restrictions, or the fact that the ticket was only for use in off-peak times

Free India wants to remove all British influence and hence renamed Bombay to Mumbai and Calcutta to Kolkotta and so on and so forth.. But we are retaining what is convenient..

For example: when British established Railways and had 1st class / 2nd class and free passes for employees it was to help themselves..and Indians travelled in 3rd class. When we became independent we did not abolish this culture!!! why??
All the AC class and First class passengers now became the rights of employees and their relatives / politicians and their affliates.. and that too they travel free... And most of the time these are not even full..

So why should railway employees and their children, relatives receive free passes to travel all over (free passes for work / vacations and what not?)They are just another set of public servants. Why do they need this previledge??
Why cant they pay for their own tickets?

Instead of NASA spending billions of dollars of tax money chasing space dust and frozen liquid, we could concentrate on a city to city and continental train that would rival the EU's.
