Just wondering if it's possible to transport a car via the rail system from Melbourne to Brisbane? I've searched for information but can't get a definitive answer. Anyones help would be appreciated...... Thanks :)

Sorry mate. I'm in the US, so this may not be of much help, but up here, it is much cheaper to enlist the services of an auto transport company. Railway traffic takes forever to move, it is costly and there is a high potential for damage to the car.

in the usa the tracks are not owned by the government but the freight railroads (Union Pacific) and you have to meat FTA and federal rail regulatrions but you could charter amtrak train or chater a private car
