I was told from a friend a few days ago that Canadian Pacific railway added 2 more trains to the NS Lehigh Line. Canadian Pacific 256 would be running from Binghamton NY to Oak Island NJ and Canadian Pacific 257 would be running from Oak Island NJ to Binghamton NY starting in early December. I was wondering if that's true or not.

I'm travelling into London and will need to use the Underground aswell as the train. Then I am returning on a different date.

What's the best ticket/travel card etc to get and roughly how much will it cost me? Should I buy one ticket for the whole time I am away or purchase 2 different tickets on the 2 different days?

I will have to buy it at the staion cos no time to do it online now.

Thanks

Isn't it time to just sack the lot of them and bring people in who actually want to make the railways work.

Hello, we are a family travelling by train all over Europe, Australia, China, Cuba, the U.S. and the Philippines.
We found it is quite difficult in the UK:
1 - Steps up to platforms (and HELL on the underground)
2 - Bus connections with no pushchair space (terrible)
3 - Rip off fares (hell, they want a 5 year old to pay!!!)
4 - No buffet cars to warm up our baby food
5 - Rude passengers who don't appreciate children
6 - Rude and abusive passengers
7 - Hell on wheels with no space for our pushchair
8 - No plug sockets to plug in our video Dora movies
9 - Total lack of respect for travelling families in UK
It is unbelievable how bad it is in UK for a family on the publis transport with a pushchair !
Fortunately we get on the boat and straight away, LIKE MAGIC we have it so good !
1 - Loading ramps easy for the pushchair
2 - Massive fare reductions for kids
3 - In France the adults go for half if they have a kid !
4 - Plenty of pushchair space in Europe and on the Ship.
5 - Politeness!

I find it odd that the clerks at the subway station have no idea when a train is coming. I work graveyard shifts and after 8pm, trains can take sometimes 15 to 25 minutes to get to a station. If I had a rough idea of whether I just missed one and would have to then wait another 20 or so minutes, it would help me greatly as I would simply take a cab. Any advice would greatly help my daily commutes. Thanks

I would think there would be access to these records somewhere online but at the moment i keep hitting dead ends.Anyone at all please give me another lead.I cannot believe the government that can tell you your conversation you had with a friend in your home..cant tell you what railroad your mom worked for.Not that they have been listening to my conversations "at least I dont think" :-) but then again in this day and age who knows lol...any help would be greatly appreciated.. Has anyone else got the runaround from the railroad retirement board?I call there today excited to try to find out for sure whether my mom worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. They found her social security number and said that she indeed had drawn retirement and the main information I wanted was the name of the railroad .They said it was no longer in service"DUH" you think?Or I would have known if she worked for it or not..but they said all they had was a number 1814 and there was no access to it.I thought the government knew everything and that would be so simple to find out from them although they don't have the information.Geez what about the other like billion people that are getting retirement.Could anyone else possibly tell me where I might find employment information possibly telling me for sure if she indeed worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. Thanks in advance

Hey everybody, I'm doing a research paper on trains and I would like to know how the fare's are in places like Japan, Europe, and South America to those here in the U.S. Also, how efficient (in terms of emissions) are trains here and abroad? Thanks a lot.

I am interested in getting from Amherst, MA to Montreal by train. Used to be you could take the Vermonter to St Albans and then a bus up to Montreal. Amtrak apparently no longer provides thruway service to Montreal. Is there any other way from St Albans to Montreal?

Alternatively you can go to Albany (3 hours on the Lake Shore Limited) and then to Montreal (8 hours on the Adirondack).

Greyhound gets from Northampton to Montreal in 7 hours.

When I'm waiting in the tunnel for a train, I always get freaked out that someone is behind me waiting to push me in front of the train. I always tend to lean back a bit just in case! I could stand in the back so its safe, but in rush hour if you're not in the front, then you'll never get on. Does anyone else get freaked out like that?
