The Man In Seat Sixty-One is ideal for arranging itineraries through Europe (and beyond). This is his website:- http://www.seat61.com/

It is impossible to tell you how much the fare is 'per stop' as it depends what country you are in, how far you are travelling etc. You can however, use an eurail pass - see http://www.eurail.com/

Try the Trenitalia web site - see below - the official web site of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italia i.e. Italian State Railways.

Fares, routes, times, connections etc. Hope it's useful.

Go to the homepage of the cities you want to visit. In most cases they provide also a map
www.comune.roma.it
www.firenze-online.com
www.comune.firenze.it
www.comune.venezia.it
are some of the homepages.
Hope this helps, and have a good trip
