I know that steam trains are ok, but what about todays trains, my sister says they run off electricity so they still negatively affect the environment, but are they just as bad as cars? Do they use petrol (trains)?

Why is it I've been longing for the days when there was no such thing as Amtrak, when steam locomotives ruled the rails, and there were more railroad companies than there are now? Or, am I just nostalgic?

I will be commuting 5 days a week for the next 10 months or so, from Sunningdale > Waterloo, then Waterloo > Chancery Lane (Underground).

What is the cheapest way to do this? Would an Oyster Card save me anything? Is there a bulk ticket thing I can buy?

Any help appreciated.

I've never ever ridden an Amtrak train. If you have, I would very much like to know what your thoughts and opinions are on your experience.

I have noticed that some trains have their engines run in both directions, this is not always the case, sometimes they are run pointing in the same direction.

There has been Public-private Policy in UK for transport upgrade investment. so which financial, government body or any private company ready to finance the Thameslink Project.
Govt. has already announced the 3.5bn pound grant, what about the rest?

I'm interested in a place in North America that still has plenty of diamonds, crossovers, and lots of freight action, and possibly even a working turntable and roundhouse. Can you help me out with a spot or perhaps a web link?

What if one of the passengers was short a few bucks and he said "Bite me!" and he threw a bunch of quarters, nickels, dimes, and pennies right in your face and threw them at you hard.

A) What would you do?

B) What would you do if you didn't have to worry about getting trouble for whatever it is you wanted to do to him?

Anyone have any ideas on the cheapest way to buy your annual season ticket?
I need to travel from Billericay (outside London) to Prince Albert (Docklands, Zone 3 though I will be travelling through 4,5 & 6 to get there)

I don't know how it works, is there one specific place I have to buy the ticket or can I shop around? I notice that the Docklands Light Rail do one for £928.00, and that means I would have to buy an additional ticket from Billericay to Stratford, - but notice you can get a travelcard Annaul ticket that will cover everything at once.
Found it a bit hard to find the prices of these last two though.

eeekk so confused!
