Yes, indeed there is. The train whistle gives off a very unique intense sound which can produce sounds up to 34 rlc's giving the brain stem a chronic phobia. there is not an exact word for it but in my scientific talk among other scientists we perfer to call it Spyrectopheliophoba

Phonophobia would work a bit. It's the fear of loud noises, but this segment came from the wikipedia website:

"Other sounds include a car backfiring, a sudden train whistle (especially electric trains) and loud parts of a movie."

I never knew there was such a thing. So, we really can learn 'round here.

Railroaders all have a common fear of a ringing telephone. This is known as 'crapIgottagotoworkaphobia'. This debilitating psychosis is permanent after three years. After that time there is no turning back.

I haven't turned a wheel for seven years, as of today, having made my last run on August 20th.. I still jump out of my socks when the damned thing rings......
