Why do some drivers think that because the front of their vehicle is past the red light, they're OK even though the back of their vehicle is blocking the traffic junction?

love animals and all but sometimes people dont quite make a good judgement call on whether its safer to hit the animal or swerve:
Small animal (below headlamp level) = Hit or Swerve?
Larger animal (above headlamp level) = Hit or Swerve?
For both I would brake, brace and hit rather than swerve at speed
What you guys think?

I've tried Yahoo Maps beta and it only allows 25 locations. I need unlimited. Routes between points not necessary. Cost is of no real concern.

I have heard that you can increase your gas mileage by coasting in neutral down hills or as you come to a stop, has anyone actually tried this?

I did a research paper on this topic and it was interesting to see the multiple ideas and arguments people had over traffic problems.

Some felt that since traffic congestion has plagued the entire United States, it was impossible to solve transportation problems. Therefore, fundings should be cut and spent where it could be more effective.

Others, however, believed that though traffic congestion is a problem, there are still several ways to at least alleviate it. And government should actually increase funding for transportation improvements.

Based on your knowledge and experience, do you personally believe that these transportation failures can be permanently fixed? Most importantly, why?

It bothers me when I am driving along at the posted speed limit and someone pulls out onto the road just as I am coming up to them. I had to slam on the brakes.

I have been in nice smelling and foul smelling cabs like a used baby diaper was stuck in the crevices! I have no problem in winding the windows, or telling the drivers that they have nice or foul smelling cabs, but don't we as passengers have the right to enjoy our rides to our destinations without having to avoid these awful situations?

Here in NJ/NY, the more stops a train makes, the more expensive the ticket is. On the subway, however, no matter how many stops it will make, the ticket is still the same price. Is it like this in other places? And what is the reason??
