I have been trying to talk my parents into letting me take flying lessons for a few years now. They seem to know I am serious about pursuing the career of an airline pilot, but still don't want to let me fly. We have the money to do so, but they want me to come up with better reasons to take the lessons. Anyone that was ever in the same situation or a pilot?

I have a old picture of a U.S. military airplane. The Wings look to be folded back and vertical as it sits inside a hanger. Where can i learn more about this plane in the picture? It looks to be from the 1920's or 30's

I am flying in one next month and am a little curious about the plane. It seats 50, so I assume it is much smaller than a 737 or 727 as I am used to...I have heard that the turbulence is felt much more on this plane. Is the take off similar to a larger jet? (I love the take off!) Any input would be nice - I like to know about the kinds of planes I fly before I get on them =]

I read this in an excerpt from an NTSB cockpit-voice transcript in which the pilot said to his first officer: "I want to make sure I'm on raw data with you".

I constantly dream of plane crashes. I am never in the plane crash, but I always witness it. Sometimes it is two planes crashing together.

The one I liked themost was national Airlines, who merged into Pan Am years ago. Their planes were all white, except for the taill number.
