Most Apache pilots in US Army are warrant officers, which means are they above enlisted men, but are NOT commissioned officers. Think of them as super-enlisted. That takes a LOT of training. Basically you have to do the basic basics as everyone else, then train your way up from the light planes army has to the light choppers and transport choppers. If you are good enough you can be assigned to one of the attack wings, flying Cobras and Apache A's. Eventually you'll work your way to the Apache D Longbows.

your best bet is to check out the usarec website. im not sure of your age but there is also a high school-flight school program.

Or, you can just join the army as a 15R(apache repairer) or 15T(blackhawk repairer) as i have and submit your warrant officer packet.

It looks good for you when you know the airframe and get a good letter of reccomendation from say a test pilot. Good luck, hope this helps!

I'm not a pilot, but I've heard for years that if you don't get it in writing what you want to do, they'll just put you in any job they want to! Be careful!
