At at RAF base near my house there is a statue of an (raltivly little) airplane with the wings pointing down at a 45 degree angle. Yet the airplanes I go on holiday on (jumbo jets) have wings that point straight out at a ninety degree angle. Is this difference to do with the size of the plane? Or is it because the RAF planes are designed for combat and speed, not carrying passengers like the jumbo jets.

can anyone help me with this question on pneumatics aircraft engineering???
Using a variety of diagrams e.g from civil aircraft inspection procedures. or from a boeing 747,777,737, airbus a320,a340, a330, identify the pneumatic power system supply requirements from engine start up and actions taken by crew during taxiing, takeoff and landing. You must identify the systems down to component level.
Links would be good, either info or diagrams.
help from you ect... Thanks

I just saw a 1970s American movie and was surprised when a character boarded a plane then told the stewardess his final destination and pay her the fare. Does anyone remembre how widespread this practice was? When did all airlines require passengers to buy tickets before boarding?

When planes are too close in controlled airspace why is it called a "near miss", why not say "almost hit", is it because they are still so far apart that it makes no diffirence, or is it simply spin from the airlines/airports to make it sound safe?
