From experience what is the average hourly rate of operating one.
Not including hanger rent, purchase, or insurance. Strictly maintence and fuel. I plan to fly from my little dirt strip about 200 hours a year.

I have always wondered how the oil can be delivered to the valve train and rings and still return to the sump "uphill" on the cylinders that are at the bottom of the rotary scheme on the big old 10 and 12 cylinder engines.

Has anyone heard of National Pilot Academy? I just found it on the internet yesterday and it has locations in nevada, utah, and arizona. It teaches you in a faster pace so you can get your license sooner and they help you with everything like financial aid and finding an apartment and get you good airline jobs or any jobs in aviation. I was just wondering if anyone heard of them or ever went there, I would like your input on them.

Is this even legal? After all, it is the pilot's responsibility to keep the passengers aware of the flight progress as well as any possible emergencies or common problems such as turbulence.

I wonder if a complaint could be filed against this particular airline (?)

Note that all pilots on international flights are required to speak English, so poor language skills is no excuse, and this represents a potential danger right there.

I would like to obtain my CHPL but can´t get financial aid . I want a career that keeps me around this industry. Some day I will have my license but for now I want a degree that I can fall back on while I´m getting the license and have enough hours built.

A small plane just shut down and is heading for the ground, and everyone has already jumped out the plane with a parchute. the only people are left are you, a hardworking successful woman and the pilot. the pilot wants to pair up with the girl, but you must convince him to pick you instead, how would you do it?

Me? i wouldn' convince him, i'd take her and push her out the plane, so that way he would have to take me:)

Hey pilots....
I'm not a pilot, but curious.
How are your "Flight Hours" calculated?
Is it from engine-on to engine-off?
Is is from Wheels-off the ground to Wheels-on the ground?
I've seen the recient news of all kinds of airliners on the ground waiting to take off.
Are the pilots gaining "Flight Hours" while they are sitting in line patiently waiting for the Spring thaw?

Ok, I can fit in the usual C172/PA28 but want to try a few others for touring with the wife. On VFR only. Don't be silly and say stearman but I would be very interested in any PFA types that are suitable, looking for fun but i'm too big for the usual types. Forget C150, C152, Bulldog, C42 (W&B issues) and pretty much all microlights.
