What is the highest altitude most helicopters can go?
Or perhaps the best helicopter in the world, how high can it go?

On May 14th, 2005 at 7:08 a.m. (Nepal time), a serial Ecureuil/AStar AS 350 B3 piloted by the Eurocopter X test pilot Didier Delsalle, landed at 8,850 meters (29,035ft) on the top of the Mount Everest in the Kingdom of Nepal.

As far as I know, the Lama still holds the altitude record for helicopters of 41,000 feet. Also, the longest autorotation, as the engine flamed out when the pilot reduced power at that altitude...

29,000 is the highest I heard,but can't get to the top of Mount Everest 37,000 ft.

"Most" helos probably don't exceed 15,000 feet. Anything above 14,000 feet requires supplemental oxygen or a pressurized cabin.
