I would like to know how would be best for me to file on my w4 form, since im having to pay taxes the last 3 years.
Im married and the last 3 years ihave been filling as married, but filling my taxes seperate,my accountant told me thats the reason i have to pay each year instead of getting some money back.
Right now i owe around $4000 in back taxes for the last 3 years,my accountant told me to file as single and file separate at the end of the year to get money back.

I am single and normally withhold 1 allowance. However, I have been having money problems this past month. I was wondering if for one paycheck, I can up my allowance from 1 to like 3 or 5. I did some calculations and this would give me an extra $100 on my paycheck. I would then switch it back to 1 for the rest of the year. Is this a wise choice or will it end up hurting me at the end of the year?

What constitutes rich? I see people say "rich people should pay more taxes" but I wonder who determines "rich." Can the definition of "rich" be adjusted? If the "rich" are being taxed, who's to say that they won't adjust the definition of rich to encompass other income levels? What prevents you from being judged "rich" compared to some other person and taxed an exceedingly large rate? And who supports a family on minimum wage anyways? I worked from minimum wage (as a teenager) and in less than a year I was making $10 an hour, and now I make $50k with only an associates degree. So do I qualify as "rich?" Is it $40k, $30k, who decides? What's to stop it from encompassing me one day? Or you?

Do I need to file CA state tax - here is my situation:
- I took some Early IRA distribution
- I was out of USA for the whole year, so not stayed in CA for that year.
- Have filed Federal taxes.
- Prior to that I was living in CA and now back to CA
- I'm US permanent resident

CA tax instructions say that you may have to file CA taxes even if you have not stayed in CA for that year if there is an income from CA source. Does the IRA distribution will be considered income from CA source?

I don't know if this is what I should do or not. I owe the taxes (over $50,000.00) and I have tried to work with them to set up payments but they won't more than I can afford monthly and they are about to levy my bank accounts and wages I'm affraid. Please give me any info you can, and also I would like to hear from some that have done this before. Thank you.

I can easily earn double that in a year, and this is the only thing holding me back. My parents are having a hard time explaining it to me.. I doubt they understand why, themselves. I want to know why because, honestly, it's really pissing me off. If someone knows how all this works, it would be very much appreciated.
