married, as long as you are still married at year end. Your filing status for the year is based on what you were as of 12/31 of any year. The exception to that rule is if you were widowed during the year, the irs treats you as if you were married for the entire year, even if your spouse died on Jan 01. You do have the option though of filing as married filing separately for 2007 though, but I wouldn't advise it, you lose a lot of deductions and credits by doing that.

Your tax status depends on your marital status as of the last day of the year - so you'd file for 2007 as married (this assumes of course that you are still married as of the end of the year).

you need to file as married filing jointly or married filing seperate. The law is if you get married at any point during the year (even up to 11:59pm on 12/31/07) you are considered married the whole year for tax purposes.

Married. We got married last November, and our tax lady advised us to file jointly, even though we had only been married a month.

The IRS considers you married or single for the entire year based on your marital status at 11:59pm on December 31.

Married, assuming you are still wed 12/31/07. Can also file as 'married filing seperate', but this typically is less beneficial than 'married filing joint'.

The options for filing 2007 income tax are determined by your marital status on December 31st, 2007. If you are still married on New Year's Eve, you have several options depending on many factors. You could file:
-Married filing jointly
-Married filing singly
-Single head of household
You really should read the instruction booklet to see your options and the requirements for each.
Congratulations, by the way.
