My fella paid too much tax last year, they told me so on the phone when I told 'em the code on his P60 so I sent it off to the relevant office as they asked with all his details and why we were sending it etc. Now 2 and half months later, am wondering what's going on here??

I live with my partner who works full time for minimum wage and we get child tax credit and working tax credits both at the high rate.
I am going to start working part time 3 hours a week, 100 pounds a month.
Would I have to pay tax on this 100 a month and would my tax credits go down?

I've been working in the UK for 8 months and told by the Inland Revenue that I'm still paying emergency taxes, as the tax code on my wageslips is BR. In November 2006 I applied to have my money back but I've just received a letter from the Tax Inspector telling me that my correct tax code 2006/2007 is 503L. Checking on Internet I've found out that BR isn't an emergency tax code, and that 503L is the real one. What does it mean? Is it all right, am I going to receive back my emergency taxes or they have made some mistake? Thank you!

I've been told that if I hold the money made from a property sale in an account with the intent on useing it to buy a property in the future that I'll be liable for an added tax of some description when I withdraw it to use as a deposite. Is this true? Does anybody know the truth about the tax laws concerning profit made from a house sale?

My former employer RBS insurance will not realease my P45 after i left the company at the beginning of December. I resigned in the beginning of November but because of the shambles of a HR department they have not sent my P45 and will not despite me ringing them at least 3 times a week. When I call they have no record of me resigning or my phone calls.

Could someone tell if I can legally demand thet they send m P45 now.
