My husband has been on worker's comp the whole year. I don't know if they take taxes out on that or not, he doesn't really get a paycheck stub. How is this going to effect doing our taxes? This is the first year I've done them, and I don't want to screw up! lol. Do they usually take taxes out of WC, or do I just not have to worry about it?

I don't mean those in their 60's and 70's, but the very old. They've paid taxes all their lives and what money they have will be eaten up in medical bills and self care. Wouldn't it be better to let them use their money for their own living expenses than making them pay taxes to support schools and gov't programs?

I think that anyone who makes it to 90 should be exempt from all taxes. They are at a point in their life that any savings they have should be available to them for their own care. If they earn anything it's interest on savings. Why tax that?????

i went to get my taxes, and was amazed when the tax man ask if I wanted to donate a dollar to the presidental fund.
Do all Tax places try and scam the public?
I think that is soooo bad. Had to send my kids and 15 grandkids when Katrina hit, to get them out of harms way. Now i can't take it off my taxes cause I didn't give the money to the government fund. This is not righ? If i trusted the President to save my kids. they would be DEAD! Do you think it is fair?

I didn't have a job for the 2006 tax filing year. So, I don't have any W2 forms or income to speak of for that year. So do I still have to file my taxes in order to fill out the FASFA? I don't really understand how that works.
Any help is MUCH appreciated, beyond just points.

I know these two people one of which is paid under the counter and so therefore is not entitled to any kind of tax return but somehow managed to come up with something to be able to get a tax return. His wife only made like 200 dollars for the year of 2006, but they got a tax return check for over four thousand dollars. They wrote off daycare costs when their kid wasn't even in daycare, and they also wrote off other things that I know they shouldn't have. Should I do something about this because I know they shouldn't have gotten back what they did and I know they cheated on their taxes. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THIS SITUATION??
