of course. If you received income, you pay taxes on it. Technically if you find a $20 bill on the ground you are suppose to report it but no one ever does.

BTW, embezzlement info is taxable too - like they are going to report that!

Don't listen to "MindRape." An "accountant" should know better than to give you wrong info - I highly doubt he is an accountant. The "employer" doesn't "gross up" anything and have to give you a W-2. You should have received a form 1099 though.

yes you can and and you are legally required to pay taxes on all income whether it's cash or not. Did they withhold taxes from your cash payments?
