I am trying to decide whether I should sign up for the Child Care flexible spending account offered in my company.
My 3 years old son is going to PRE-K3 and we pay around $600 every month. Can I add the tuition to my itemized deduction when I fill fax in the next couple months?
My employer offers Child Care Flexible Spending Account which set aside $5000 from my paycheck, pre-tax, to pay for the tuition.

Do I save more money if I sign up for the Flexible Spending Account? or it is the same as I add the tuition to to itemized deduction

Thanks!

A lot of people have suggested that I use eBay as a source to make some extra money. However, I was wondering if that is like selling your items at a pawn shop or consignment shop (and you don't have to claim the profits on taxes) of it was more like a job. I've spoken with to reps on eBay live Help and one told me that I would have to call the IRS and the other told me that no, I did not have to. I live in Pennsylvania. Does anyone know for sure or from experience? I don't see how I would get a W2 in the mail from eBay. I don't know that you have to put your social security number in when you make a seller's account, either, but I'm not positive.

My husband was working for himself for 4 months. Each week I took the necessary taxes out and put them in a "business" account. About a month ago he used the money to bail a friend out of jail. Now tax season is fast aproaching and he has nothing to put in for those 4 months. He had a "regular" job before this 4 months and he has one now but for those 3/4 months we owe about $1400.00. Am I going to be held responsible for that as well becasue were married?

Last year I claimed my wife on our taxes, she didnt work and I had a salary of about $21,000. I received about $1200 on my refund. This year I am at around $24,000 for the year with my wife as a dependant. My wife is working partime and is at about $4,000 for the year with no dependants. We have no children and we rent. I have been claiming my wife all year as a dependant. Could I even do that? Could I claim my wife as a dependant on this year's tax return? Other people have told me that I cannot claim her and I check the IRS website and they don't have a specific answer to my question. We will be filing jointly.

In the past I leased a vehicle and paid the monthly lease payment out of the business checking account. Now I am considering buying a car instead of leasing. Can I pay a portion of the car payment out of the business (a sole proprietorship) on a monthly basis without running afoul of our friendly tax people.

I've been on Anticoagulants for 23 years after heart surgery and will be on it for life and have recently been told I am too unfit to work so am now claiming Incapacity benefit. but as my incap pays me £2 more per week than the Gov say I need to live on(£61) I can't get income support and therefore have to pay prescription charges but doesn't that mean that when I pay the £6.85(per item) I am then £4.85(minimum) below the amount I need to live on?

I am on Warfarin for life, so I have to pay for the privalidge of life because I am sick, some privelidge that is!

Thank you Mr Brown!

My husband and I got married in July. He has not changed his W-4 to married (still says single) because he owes back childsupport, he doesn't want it to effect me financially, and he doesn't want more withheld from his paycheck. Can he still file a married filing seperately federal tax return altough his W-4 says single or does his W-4 have to be changed to married in order to file a married filing seperately tax return? We are trying to figure out if it is best for him to change his W-4 form.

Before we were married he wasn't getting a tax return because all of it went to pay off his back childsupport. I have always gotten a tax return. I am wondering if I file jointly with him if they will take all of our taxes or my portion of it will be returned to me? I am trying to figure if it would be best for me to file jointly or seperately.

In addition, I bought Quicken 2008 home and buisness however, it seems a bit confusing to me. Any suggestions?

Catty is employed with the Marks Corp. She earns a salary of $200 a week, as well as a commisson of 1 1/2 percent of sales. Her commission last month was $840. She will recieve one-fourth of that amount this week in her gross earnings. She is married, has five children, but only claims three exemptions. She also earns $40 a week by doing artwork on the side out of her own home. She collects this income in cash.
