Suppose I retire and start collecting Social Security benefits, but I also work part time and earn income. Ignoring any income taxes taken out of my pay, does Uncle Sam also still take social security tax from my wages even though I am now a beneficiary of the system?
TIA

What is a meloruse tax?
Someone had asked me a question if there is a meloruse tax, and I don't know what it means.
I believe the person spelled "meloruse" wrong, so I couldn't find out what it meant.
Thanks.

i honestly don't know how this procedure works for short term investments under which the stock is held less than a year. so whats the MOST that you can get taxed despite income or people you're supporting. what's the highest percent that you could get taxed? for example you may have to pay a complete total of 50,60 or 70 percent? maximum?

Wealthy person seeking a family or individual in need of money.

Then if you answered the ad you had to mention why you needed it what you were going to use it for and etc. I know it was a tax right-off for the rich. Do they still do this?

What is the annual income maximum, that a person can make and not be required to file taxes?

If someone has not filed taxes in the past 6 years, can they file them now and get caught up? If so, how?

Also, if a person does not have W-4 forms for that time period, how would they get copies of them. If they are unable to get copies, how do they know what amounts to use for filing.

Thanks.

My father is interested in changing jobs and with his present job he has a good build up of his 401K. If he closes the 401K account, how will the taxes be handled? Will they take taxes out before he receives the money, after he receives it, in between?? How does this work? Also, if he was to put some of the money into paying a house morage off, will he recieve a tax break? Are there any tax breaks in this? Thanks!

Do I have to pay taxes quarterly or can I just pay at the end of the year as additional income to my husband. I dont want the added costs of starting my own business.

Ok, I am going to start off and say that; I work for the federal government and I am a little upset about this. If you win more than $5,000 you have to claim it to the IRS. What is up with that.

I am just trying to figure out what is going on with this country where the government just "has to" have their d@mn hands in everything. Maybe I am being a little irrational but this is just ridicoulous. If you win it, playing poker or any gambling game for that matter you shouldn't have to claim sh!t!!!!.

But I guess that's what I fight for: The land of the free, right???

My husband and I are looking into leasing a car for him to use for work. He works from the house most of the time but does drive to see clients a couple of times a week, for which his company does pay mileage. Would we still be able to write off the lease payments (or a portion of them) as a business expense on our taxes?

Hi!

I have a ROTH IRA account.
After I bought my stock, it says short term.
Because I don't have to pay tax on my profit, I can sell it after 1 week or 4 year, still I don't have to pay tax.
Am I right?

I bought a new SUV last week but I did not trade in my older SUV. I listed for sale but now I'm thinking maybe I should donate it. The Blue Book Value is about $2,700 but there about $700 in break repairs needed. So I listed it for $2,000 in Auto Trader. Would it be better to donate it to charity for the deduction?
