My previous employer hasn't provided me my W2. I had worked with them for 9 months in 2006. They also never provided me with a pay stub, so I have no idea of what my withholdings are. What are my options of obtaining a W2 with all my withholding information. I contacted the IRS and filed a complaint about this and they told me that they would send a letter to my previous employer. But this hasn't produced any results either.

I am a sub-contractor and know that I need to pay taxes quarterly. I have set aside 35% of my income, but I don't know how to pay this or where to pay this. Someone gave me a website, but I don't know what form to fill out, what 'll need, etc. I don't have a lot of expenses, and I'm paid a flat dollar amount every 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me how to do this online? Thanks for any help you can give!

Last year, my ex-wife and I agreed on the settlement of our house after our divorce, which is 50/50. She and I agreed not to sell the house (unless she buys me out right before then) until my last child turns eighteen, which will be in 11 years. I was given $25,000 last year upfront from my ex-wife as part of the settlement agreement from the house. I am currently on SSDI too. Don't know if that will be affected too.

What I am really trying to say is how much (approximately) do I have to pay in taxes for the $25,000 I received from my ex? Being on disablility, how will that affect me too.

I am 28 yrs old and took out a loan from my 401K 3 years ago. Payments were being deducted from my paycheck on a regulary scheduled basis, until I left the company and was told I had 60 days to pay the remainder of the loan balance in full, which I did. I received two tax statements in the mail, one stating the gross amount of the loan and another stating the gross amount of the loan as $0. When I went to have my taxes prepared, I was told that I would have to pay taxes on the amount of the loan that was outstanding when I left, even though I paid it in full. Is this true? This is considerably lowering my refund and I want to make sure that the tax preparer is not making a mistake. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I am self employed, and have already filed my taxes for 2006.In Feb.of 2006,I house sat for someone, and got paid one thousand dollars.I received two checks, each for five hundred, from two different person's accounts. Now, one of the people wants to send me a 1099 for the thousand dollars, even though only five hundred came from him.He thinks that he can take the deduction for the money he paid me.I keep telling him that since the check was for under six hundred dollars, that he cannot take the deduction, and I don't have to claim the money. He was supposed to get this to me by Jan 31st,and he's just getting around to it now. He's just looking for every deduction he can get because he screwed up.He said I should just file an amended return next year.Who's right? Please don't answer if you really don't know.
