Easily - divide the total by 100 and then multiply by whatever percentage you want to get.
20% 0f 200:
200 / 100 = 2

I take the percentage and move the decimal point two places to the left and then multiply the other number by the first one to get the percentage of the total. for example:
60% of 900= ?
move the decimal point to places to the left
.60 of 900= ?
then multiply the two together.
.60 X 900= 540.00
So 540 is 60% of 900
Hopes that helps

part/whole*100=percentage.
example: there 70 mixed color balls, 30 blues, 25 reds, 15 green.
percentage of blue: 30/70*100=43%
percentage of red: 25/70*100=36%
percentage of green: 15/70*100=21%

depends on what percentage you want to know.....
if you want 20% of say $250 would be
$250 x .20 = $50. you move the decimal point over 2 places to the left when you change a % for calculation.
if you wanted 5.25% of $250
you would move the decimal point over 2 places to the left...
5.25%= .0525
$250 x .0525 =$1.875
if it was 5.25% off of $250. you would find the percentage first and then subtract the difference from the original amount
$250 - 1.875 = $248.125 (round off to the nearest 10s) $248.13
good luck
