There's so much financial corruption in the Churches. No one seems to care. Churches should pay taxes like any other corporation.

We are in business as a pvt. ltd. company for 10 years providing management training. We have been filing our returns promptly. But with regards to Service Tax, our auditors did not advise us to register and now when we want to register, we are afraid that we may be penalised heavily.

Need some good solutions to this mess.

I am running a small business and I want to hire an independant contractor to do some technical writing for the website. Are there any IRS forms that I need to have to contractor fill out prior to beginning work on my website? The work will be continuous for approximately 1 year.

Also, how do I report to the IRS that I paid this contractor and when do I send that form in?

Thanks for the help!

I heard that when the Federal Income tax was first created in 1913, there was a quote (from someone in the Government) saying something along the lines of "we'll never be able to spend all these taxes". Can anyone confirm this with a source? Thanks.

I have a client who owes his previous accountant money. She is holding his documents & he is not able to file his Corp & Individual return. He knows he needs to pay the money. Is there any legal recourse he can take because it is unprofessional & I thought accountants were not allowed to hold your documents hostage.

someone told me that her and her husband received income taxes for being newlyweds. anyone else ever heard of getting money from taxes in your first year of marriage? (said it is given to you for things like a down payment on your house or a car)

In Finland EU, if you start own business, you pay taxes aproximately 25+22+9+22=78% taxes and other goverment costs of what you get from a customer in an average non-material custom service.

Is it this hard in other parts of the world too?

We have several corporations we run payroll for, and I accidentally paid a semimonthly tax deposit under the wrong federal id number and bank account. The tax has been paid, but applied to the wrong entity. I have made a new payment today for the correct corp and will apply future taxes towards the overpaid corp's liability. I just wondered since I know of the problem now if I can alert the IRS before filing Schedule B, or do I have to wait until they receive the 4th quarter report and post it and then send me a letter saying the tax is paid late, yadda yadda yaddda.... before I can send the explanation.

I couldn't find anything on IRS website that addressed this.

Does anybody know good ways to get a larger tax refund. I'm not married and rent a house with my g/f, we have no kids. I know somebody in the same income bracket as me (30-40k) and he has a friend that does his taxes online. He gets lots of money back and I only get a couple hundred dollars. We both claim 1 on our W-2's
