I have always done my taxes for myself online using one of the many free websites. However, in the last year I have bought a home and was wondering if its much more complicated??

-I am single
-had only 1 job this last year
-own only one home/property

is this something I can easily do myself or should I take to a professional

I am being taxed by the irs on prefered shares of stock and then taxed again on the same shares after they were converted to common shares. The common shares show no basis, so the irs wants to tax me on 100% of the share price when I've already paid income tax on the shares when they were prefered stock.

Last year my wife had job for 2 months(earned 4000 totally for 2005).we have two kids and she had 3 dependents including me for 2005. This year I got a job (november-2006)and income will be 3000 (1500 *2) for 2006 and wife got 2000*12=24000 for 2006.. last year we received refund of $5000 tottaly.How much we may get this year (2006) approximately.please advise/help us.

I have a vacant land owned by my company I would like to know if the taxes paid on capital gain are different if they were owned a person. I know that the capital gain tax for a person is 15%.
Does anybody know if it is the same in my situation where the land is owned by a company. Thanks for any help I get !!!
