I have an excellent idea for improving a pre-existing product. How should I go about getting my idea patented? Should I seek counsel of a patent attorney. Additionally, how can I find out if the patent is indeed legit or hasnt already been patented? Thanks. I am afraid that if I go to a patent attorney he/she might steal my idea. Should I just fill out the patent forms and see if it gets accepted? Additionally, it involves plastics - anyone know where I can get a prototype made without them stealing my idea as well.

Does anyone have any expeierce with working at home. I am not speaking of those work at home things, but actually started your own business and home and make money that way? Any ideas of a business I could start while at home, with not much initial start up cost, anything that worked for you. I am a full time college student and it is hard for me to find a job to work around my schedule. I would like to start something and need ideas. Thanks !

Some people write checks when their accounts are empty. Some people write checks after their accounts are closed. Whether it's by accident or intentional it becomes a painful expense. What can small businesses do to recover those lost sales?

I know of some check recovery programs, but suspect the full amounts are not collected. What recovery programs have you had success with?

The fridge was VERY old, but now the customer is demanding a new replacement plus £200 to cover the food inside with no proof. Does anybody know what our legal obligations are? We operate in NJ where we are currently leasing a space for a store. We are in need of more power at the location which requires a major investment to be made into upgrading electrical infrastructure in the building. Our lease expires in less than a year and I think it's the landord's responsibility to cover the cost of such improvement since it's his property and it would be a permament improvement to his property from which next tenant would benefit if he or us don't renew the lease. Am I right in my thinking? Is there a law which I can use to pursuade him that it is his responsibility to pay for it?

Thank you.
