This might be a dumb question. Im reciving my income tax money in my checking account in about 2 days. I NEED to get a new cell phone TODAY, but wont have the $$ for it until the money hits my account in a few days. Can i just write a check out for the phone today and be safe? I know some places have " vericheck" where they can take the funds out right away, thats why im a little nervous.... think its ok??

into a CD or Money Market account, could you make that decision over the phone or even if it sounded like a good idea would you think about it and walk into your bank if you wanted to do it?

Basically my question is asking if you would make that decision right there over the phone on that phone call?

i do not, nor have i ever, used credit cards. i do not use a bank. my husband has been out of work since november. he can not find anything that would support us and our two small children. we have hospital bills, outstanding power bills, cable bills, we have almost 16,000 worth of his student loans for college that he didn't ge to finish b/c he ran out of money and had to drop out. i got 2 tickets last month for not having insurance or a tag (it was at a mandatory checkpoint). i cant count all of our bills. he had a great job lined up to start on monday and we got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that his job offer has been withdrawn b/c of a bad driving record (2 tickets in the last 4 years). our tax refund, which would have been almost 6000 was taken from us by the dept. of education for his student loan. it would have gotten us back on our feet until he got a job. what do we do? i'm so depressed. we need help. we have food stamps and F.A. $245 per month - any advice would help

I can't really get a second job because of my current job, but what's a (legal - those days are done) good way to make extra cash so I can pay down my credit cards for a 30 something professional? The problem is I can't commit to specific times due to my work commitments and personal training.

I know the answer is probably a resounding NO, but I have to ask. I am always broke, but due to my tax refund, I will have a little extra money. I would like to turn that into enough cash to rent a decent house for myself and my kids and get a reliable car because mine is on it's last leg. Any advice appreciated - smart-*** comments are not. Thank you!
