I'm 26 and currently put away 20% of every paycheck into my 401k, plus I max out my Roth IRA every year. I feel like this is enough, but I never know. There needs to be a balance between savings and enjoying your life and money now... so how do others reconcile this decision?

My cousin-in-law is new to the UK and has been here for about 5 days. She is looking for a permanant place to live and needs to get a bank account. How can she go about doing this and what is the best bank to use? She has a passport and a valid visa, but it appears that there are lots of barriers out there to prevent her from applying. We only need a cash card that she can pay her salary into for the moment.

This would be a question for UK citizens....Many people seem to transfer their property to their kids for financial reasons, mainly to escape payment to the Government for elderly care etc.. What are the Pros and Cons of this discussion ? Is there a penalty to be paid by the kids ? Serious answers please, this is an important issue for me.

I've twice emailed my mortgage lender, an internet bank, asking if they would phone me to discuss my mortgage (I want to transfer from variable to fixe rate). They haven't responded and i'm fed up. Meanwhile, the bank where I have my current account has offered me what looks like a better deal. Should I have a hissy fit and change lenders out of spite or should I persist with trying to make my mortgage lender talk to me, even though I've got the right hump with their level of service?

I've called my bank, and called a credt reporting company to put an alert (if successful it shoul be placed on all 3 companies.) Ive called about the credit card in the wallet, but im still really worried. I have to wait to file a report with the police (cuz its almost 1am on a saturday). So lots of fun. Also, what is a compound rate, and the normal rate that the bank use when you borrow at e.g 4% p.a.

Is there a reducing rate as well or not?

I would like to thank you for your help, and for any other clarifications, if you could provide me with examples that would be grate.
