If you are on SSI, which is a state benefit not federal, it would depend on your new husbands income. Generally SSI is for very low income, so basically if he has a reasonable income, they may either reduce or stop the benefits.

If you are on SSDI, which is federal social security disiblity, you can get married to Trump for all they care, they won't take it from you.

If you are 65 and on disability. You may lose your ssi anyway. Depending on how much you paid Social Security. You can get Social Security Retirement for yourself and you can keep if you remarry. If you don't get married and you were married for 10 years. You can get a part of your ex-husbands Social Security Retirement Income as well. SSD SSR and Survivors benefits come on or after the 3rd of the month.

Your disability will run out when you turn 65. You will then collect normal Social Security.

They will deduct from your check what your new husband makes. And if what he makes is alot more than what you get you will lose all your check. I get SSI-disability. They told me I would lose mine if I marry, depending on what my husband brings in. I refuse to get married. My SSI is MY money. I won't have MY money taken away from me. I'll stay single and keep my money. You and I both worked way to hard through life just to have it taken away from us just because we want to get married. Sad but true fact of life.

My mom lost her's when she got married. Just hope the guy you're getting hitched with has some cash. Otherwise, it's a pretty grim deal.

Will you lose them? I don't think so. They will probably be adjusted to a married status.

Call your local Social Security office and ask them the question. They will be able to tell you the exact changes that will occur.
