I'm selling my home in New Orleans & going to college. I will probably make a profit of around $40K. When I move I will be paying for all my personal expenses and paying $350 rent. I haven't decided if I want to go for a 4 yr degree or an 8 yr degree, but I do know I can blow $40,000 fast.

What can I do with my earnings to make it grow without it affecting me getting grants or student loans for tuition or annual taxes?

I also do not intend on working during my college career because it will inevitably affect my grades.... that's just how I am & I don't want to let that happen this time.

btw I decided to sell this property because who knows if the next hurricane may blow my house away entirely & I am just not ready or willing to take that risk.

My Husband wants us to put more towards savings but i want to put more towards our debt. I will like to have to paid off asap. Right now we are putting 700-1200 towards debt a month. But with us putting that most towards debt it will be paid off the summer of 07. Should I cut it down or keep it the same? Also to note we do save each month but not that much as we would like.

I had declared bankruptcy last year but not due to my own doing. It was my only way out of something that was done to me. I would love an opportunity to prove I am credit worthy & need a loan. I don't want to keep filling these pay day advances & either getting bumped off the internet or being told they can't help you but go to another website. If someone could help me that would be great.

My mother is 51.5 years old. She works 2 full time jobs. Once I finish college and as she ages, I know I have to help her finacially (whichs is fine). I want her to budget & save her money, how do I approach this in a caring manner and not sound controlling?

She raised five kids on her own and went without for so long. Now she just buys what she wants and saves little.

My boyfriend and I just moved in together, it was a rough ride from the beginning, we were both kind of unprepared for such demanding bills. Shortly after moving in a month and a half ago, I just bought a new car (well used, but new to me), I am able to afford my bills, but there are things I have to do to the new car and things that I need to get caught up on in order to not fall to far behind. However the situation is that he also just lost his job 2 weeks ago, I talked to him about it last night, and explained that he really needs to look for a job, because between, my part of the rent, my new car, the new furniture I am financing, and everything else, I don't make enough to even come close to swinging all of the bills. What is a good way to get caught up on my stuff, also what are some good ways to save money, and are there any easy ways to try to make money other then finding a full time second job? Thanks!!

I have twelve gold sovereigns (old and new) that were given to me as a child on birthdays - my parent's thought gold was a good investment in the early 80's. I hear the cost of gold is high at the moment and would like to know how to capitalise on this.
