My husband used to make really good money and we had a lifestyle according to that. Well now we are doing alright but I cant pay any of my credit cards and I can't seem to get my mortgage caught up. My car payment is behind. Now I know I can pay all my bills if everything wasn't past due with late fees etc. Someone told me about chapter 13 but when I talked to one lawyer they said they can make the unsecured debt go away but I would have to pay $500 on top of my current bills that are secured and my living expense. I don't know that I can do that. If it was 100 or so maybe but 500 I think I could settle with the credit card people for less. Also if my credit wasn't so bad because my husband was on workers comp for 2 years I would just refi my house and pull the money out of there and pay another 200 on my mortgage. Not sure if this is enough info but I am looking for some advise. I guess the lawyer was saying that because we have equity in some items that is screwing us.

Working this summer I plan on making 5 k and I really need a car. See myuy brother's car is not very friendly. First, its a 92 honda accord, 5 speed, that is about 3 different colors. And the speedometer works every once in a while. Should I inherit my brother's car and tune it up, or use my 5k and buy me a used car that I can find?

Then why when I print out a salary report from salary.com why do employers get offended and say thats ridiculous?. Also why would a CPA work for a company if he can be independent and make alot more on his own auditing other companies books? Also can people become wealthy working for a company or do they have to go the entrepreneurship way?

Seriously now..

I'm too young to get a job. so don't say that.

I currently have 51$, and in a few days will be getting almost $500 for child support from my dad but 250$ of it goes in a bank for college.

If I can convince my mom to let me use my college money i'll have around 900$, only 1,100 to go.

Plus birthday money i'm gonna get so I should only need another 800$ and have about a weeks and a half to make it =/.

anyone have any suggestions.

I work 40hrs/week at a steady $13.10/hr paying job...I have two children and a garnishment on my paycheck (25% is taken out of it to put toward a debt) - which leaves me barely enough to pay the sitter.
My husband started a "commission only" insurance sales job in April and has yet to earn more than $1000. (which was gas money b/c he has to drive all over Indianapolis)
We have maxed out both of our credit cards, and our bills are stacked from last month.
I'm sad b/c I cannot see my babies (i'm stuck behind a cubicle all day) - and instead I'm paying a sitter 1/2 of what i earn. I cry a lot because of this...and WISH my husband would try harder to make money. I have an MBA - have been applying at about 3 jobs a week - and get nothing but sales bites. Any advice?
