No, credit card companies are always looking for suckers, but they are not stupid.
However, some credit card companies will give you a credit card, but you have to send the amount of the credit limit in to them. They will then hold this money, incase you don't pay them back. This is typically used for people who are trying to reestablish their credit. If you are in the middle of filing for bankruptcy though, you shold waith till the procedure is over before you even try to get anymore credit.

Technically, you are not supposed to open any new credit accounts while you are waiting for your hearing. It is a little unethical to open new accounts when you can't pay off the credit you have already obtained, even if it is from unusual circumstances such as medical emergencies, disasters, etc. Why would you want to jump back in the fire? Anyway, you won't have to wait long to travel back down the same road The companies with outrageous interest rates will usually start sending you applications almost immediately after it has been settled. My advice be careful!
