All else being equal, yes. However, a 9 year old bankruptcy won't have a significant affect on your score due its age. Of much more importance is your credit history since the discharge.

It goes up only slightly. If you've declared bankruptcy, they will know even though you're off to a fresh start. Getting a loan maybe harder than before because of your history.
