I have a long list of possible grant sources. Is it wise to send out a bunch of Letter of Inquiries to multiple companies at once or should I stagger the submissions?

I have received emails from persons who use 3 letters after the "@" then, "-inc.com". Are the 3 letters just part of a person's name? Just a "personalized" email address? Or do they stand for a particular business? Further, if a business, can those "3 letters" be researched as to what they "stand for"? One is "@lan-inc.com".

Growing up in the northeast I would always see signs that read something like "Est. 1858". So I was wondering, what is the longest running company in the US? Are there any companies around today that were founded in the 1700's?

Professional dilemma. A blue collared subordinate made a small but potentially serious mistake in a very routine job which could cause problems for the company in the form of customer complaints. This is unlikely though and the mistake may only be discovered in 1 or 2 years. Nothing can be done to reverse it now. She confessed to me but has pleaded with me not to report it to upper management. On one hand, it's my duty to report it but on the other, it wouldn't reverse the mistake anyway and may result in her facing strict corporate disciplinary action. Should I let it go or report it?
