Take it to the post office. They will tell you in minutes if it is real, and if not, they will take care of all the police/prosecution work.

you need to turn them into the police. There has been a lot of this going around and if you cash them and they are fake you are responsible for returning that money to the bank.

DID POST OFFICE, PAY YOU THAT AMOUNT? OTHERWISE, IT SHOULD BE SOME FRAUD. ALTERNATIVELY, IT SHOULD BE THE MONEY, SENT TO YOU, ON BEHALF OF A PERSON, WHO HAS NOMINATED YOU.

If they are authentic it should have a water mark on it.
