I want to get into the stock market. I know about it but I know its a competitive field thats why I want to know as much as I can about it. I'm not trying to be a millionaire. I'm sure if it was possible, everyone would. I just want to know how I could make some extra bunks. How much could a person make on a stock? How much do stocks usually cost? Do you have to go through a stock broker? How much does the broker take off? Thanks in advance!

Im 24, my home is in Tampa, and i have alittle over 100k equity in 3 years. But i have to relocate. Should i sell and reinvest...possible earning 15-20% on that? Or not sell and rent out my home...leaving to 100k tied up. But wont i have to pay capital gains later. Or should i be safe and use the 100k as a down payment for my new home?

I currently have 401k plan at my job. If I was to change jobs would I have the option to cash out the 401k rather than rolling it over to another job or IRA. If I am able to cash it out how much of penalty is there and how soon can I expect to see the money? How does an IRA work? Thank You in advance for your help.

I am new to stocks; I have always had an interest but no education. Where can I look to find out what different numbers mean such as PEG and P/E? Also I notice that a lot of stocks have a big jump in the beginning of their existence and then level off. Where can I find out what companies are new to the stock market?
