Dearest,

It is my pleasure to contact you for a business venture which I and my brother sadiq ,intend to establish in your country.
Though I have not met with you before but I believe, one has to risk confiding in succeed sometimes in life.
There is this huge amount of ($5,500,000.00) which my
late Father deposited in a Security company here in cote d'ivoire before he was assasinated by unknown persons.

Now I and my brother decided to invest these money in your country or anywhere safe enough outside Africa for security and political
reasons.

We want you to help us transfer it into your personal account in your country for a good reliable bussiness investment that we increase the fund

If you can be of an assistance to
us we will be pleased to offer to you 10% Of the total fund.
I await your soonest response.
Respectfully yours,

Miss Sarat Kosa

No explanations really necessary, I'm just wondering what people think.

I want to invest in raw materials, like corn, beef, oil, oranges, etc. I keep hearing news reports that the value of corn is going up because of alternative fuel refinement. The news quotes the price of one barrel of oil each day. As an humorous example, in the movie Trading Places with Eddie Murphy, the main characters were investing in pork bellies and oranges. How do I, a regular 9 to 5 worker, do the same? Is it similar to buying stocks? Are there stock funds dedicated to just raw materials?

I think mutual funds would be best and safest for me right now. Do you have any other, possibly better suggestions? Is it better and/or cheaper to do it online? Where's a good place to start? I'm looking for low fees, low minimum balances, but good returns. (Of course!)

I'm 23 right now, with at least 35 more working years until I retire. My job has a pretty good 401k plan, and I've done a lot of research on the various mutual funds. My question is, should I include a bond fund as part of my portfolio being as young as I am?

I read that in the recession of 2001-2002, people with all their money in equities lost 30% of their portfolio.

Should I safeguard myself against those losses by putting some of my money in a bond fund or stable value fund, or would I be better off sticking with dollar-cost-averaging and keeping all my money in mutual funds for the time being, just sticking it out through the bear markets?
