I was just checking the CD's that INGDirect offers. Why do shorter term CDs such as 6, 9 and 12 month CD yeild a greater interest rate than the longer term CDs such as 48 and 60 month ones? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I'm looking into lots of franchising businesses but I do not know which industry is worth the time and money to invest on. All of them seems very promising on the books, but I have heard horror stories on many of them. Can anyone that owns any franchise business provide me an insight on my question?

I am wanting to start buying high risk stocks with say $100-$200/ company. I have heard that you have to find a buyer for the stock before you can sell them? How true is this? If this is true, would it be safe to say that if a stock has a large trading volume (greater than 10,000,000), it may be easier to sell?
Also, what is the difference b/n OTCBB stock and pink sheet stocks?

I was thinking about signing up for either Peter Leeds or Global Penny stocks. Has anyone used these sites and how would you rate them? Or know of any other good ones?

Is there a concensus among investors as to necessary reads for casual to serious investors in Wall Street and beyond? Like a so-called bible(s) of investing theory that, if you wanted to start, you should look into?

It doesn't have to be short or simple, or complex and lengthy, just the thing you'd trust your only child with if s/he asked for a primer on this field. I'm looking for what that one person you've met (or read about) in you life that you think is a genius in the game and respect with integrity swears by, and everyone else you talk to would agree about as a good read and not misleading.

I've been looking around at different mutual funds through many companies and have noticed that it seems that some of the company's best performers in the last 5-7 years have been Latin America based funds. For example FLATX (44.1%) and PRLAX (51%) 2006 return. What is the reason for this and is the trend expected to continue for a while? Is there any informative websites or articles that may explain these Latin America funds specifically? Thanks a bunch!
