My husband just started a new job last week and there is no waiting period for insurance. He has to fill out the forms online. My question is, how soon after he fills out the forms can I go to the doctor? I need a physical for my job and stuff like a TB test, vaccinations, etc. I only have a week to get the physical and stuff, but I'm worried our insurance won't kick in intime. How long after the application pappers are emailed is the insurance active? Will I have to wait for the insurance card to come in the mail? That takes forever, is it possible for the doctor's office to just call out insurance company and ask if we are covered?

I know I have 30 days to add baby, but after he/she is born will he/she be covered? Is it possible that I can start the coverage before the baby is born? and if so how will I go about it. I know I need to call them, I get home so late they are always closed, so eventually I will get a live person.

Someone was telling me about KidCare also, I don't qualify for any state aid so what is the procedure for applying? Is my income taken into consideration? and how soon after birth will it start?

I was able to get my sister hired at my office. work part time there (no benefits) and she was hired to work full time (with benefits). She took the job thinking her insurance would kick in automatically. When she got her paycheck, the insurance wasn't taken out. She was told that all employees have to wait 90 days for insurance. Now she has to find some type of insurance in the interim. I feel bad because she has some health issues. Is this policy common in the workplace?

OK This is really hurting me because some jerk hit my car in the parking lot ( I don't know when) and when wake up in the morning and see my car it is damaged.

My problem is I don't have insurance to the car and my car registration has expired too. (I rarely use my car because I have a work truck).

I dont know what to do. Should I call the cops? or just forget about it for now and get the insurance upto date and call the insurance people after some days.

Please help.

My father had a 50K Life Ins. policy that he was paying on for many, many years. I was listed as the only beneficiary. My father passed away in March of this year. When I called the insurance company to report his death, they informed me that he had let the policy lapse a month before his death. It was past the 30 day grace period. My question is: Becasue my father was seriously ill, we also found that he forgot to pay a few other bills in the previous months (ie...property taxes, gardner...etc.) Is it possible to hire an attorney to help me fight the lapsed policy and still collect on it - citing my father's illness for lack of payment?

Hey
I’m 24, permanently disabled, and on my parent’s health insurance. In June I’m moving to another city to attend grad school. I have called insurance companies about getting covered and they denied me based on my disability. However they said I can go on a cobra plan and pay my own premium which has the same coverage as I do now. After I have exhausted that, Blue Cross is by law obligated to offer me a HIPAA plan, which is also essentially the same coverage but a higher premium. After that insurance companies legally can’t deny me based on my disability. However I am still considered a dependant of my parents’. I don’t quite understand all this and am hoping someone can explain it to me.
Thanks

No big storm, tornado or lightning. just some wind and a little rain drizzle. The tree was not dead to our knowledge.
luckily nobody outside was hurt.
My question is- is the city any way responsible for helping cover or covering my deductible of my car. Damage was 3500.
I attempted to call the city but the person was out until Mon.

I live in Minnesota.

47 million American's go to bed every night without health insurance while the health insurance industry is making billions of $ in profits. We spend almost 2x as much as any other industrialized nation for our health coverage (the majority of these costs go to administration not treatment) and we rank 37th in the world in overall health. By ending the inefficency of the current system we could cover every American for the same $ were spending now. We are the only country in the world where people go bankrupt because of health costs.

COST DOES NOT MATTER. I already pay nearly $700/mo. for my current health insurance. I don't mind paying for great coverage. (I am in Arkansas, and yes, that usually matters.)
Here's what I'm looking for:
$500 Deductible
Coverage ANYWHERE I go, but having a "preferred network" is fine, so long as I still get coverage elsewhere.
Rx that is NO MORE than $30 for brand name drugs.
Full Dental Coverage
Vision - if possible
Yearly Out of Pocket - $2500 or less.
ALL MAJOR MEDICAL

I currently have coverage that FAR exceeds what I've listed above, but it runs out at the end of the year. I am Diabetic (type 1), and use an insulin pump.

I've not found anything even close to what I currently have. So, I've set much lower standards, as are laid out above. Where can I find such insurance? Again, cost does NOT matter.

Why will an insurance company pay a doctor (if your luck, and not an intern,) 1200-1500.00 and an anestheiologist another 800-1000 to do an optical colonoscopy, but will NOT pay for a VIRTUAL colonoscopy that costs from 400-600 and requires no sedation and is more accurate because it's an MRI/PET scan??? Makes no sense to me at all, but since Brains and Common Sense....what do I know? LOL

I'll know to remember this and make sure that when I have a kid the school makes 100% of the kids get vaccinated or the kid goes somewhere else.

religious exemptions that can cause a public health crisis or spread of disease?

absurd. I'm all for letting people worship however they want so long as they don't shove it down another's throat and realize that faith is just that faith. However when letting someone hold that belief can potentially threaten the lives and health of everyone else. thats where I draw the line.

why don't we just allow human sacrifice while we are at it?

I have United Healthcare and my particular policy excludes any surgery for obesity. I was hoping to have the bypass done, but since it is excluded.... I would have to pay for it out of pocket, and I cant afford that. I barely make enough to make my bills, none the less add a surgery. Can anyone tell me if they make exceptions to exclusions? Or is there a way to get around them? I really need this surgery if I want to be alive in another 10-15 years. I am submitting a letter of medical necessity from my doctor and a bariatric surgeon. I am can show a family history of comorbidities. I dont have any comobidites yet, but I will soon. My a1c is on the high end of normal. And my cholesterol is normal... but my ldl is on the high end of normal. I am getting a sleep study done to prove I have sleep apnea... but I dont know what else I can do. Any suggestions?

And in advance to those that will say go on a diet... I have been on dr supervised diets with no sucess.
