I know what I want to say in the letter, but I am having difficulty finding a good introduction sentence. Should I be bold or reserved in my introduction statement? I am sending my resume to a company that offers an admintrator in training program (healthcare).

I am looking for a summer job and have applied to retail stores such as Barnes and Noble. Usually I try to include a cover letter because somewhere I read that this was the proper etiquette. A friend told me this was a bad idea because most stores "wouldn't know what to do with it". I.e. they wouldn't expect for an applicant to make that much of an effort. Is he right? Should I just submit applications and forget the letter? I really want to make a good impression.

My boss and I are friends outside of work, and we both dislike liars.
I have been with this company for 5yrs now and worked with him for 3yrs. Always got along with all of co-workers, and bosses and always go into work on time, never call out, and will be called in on a mins. notice.
First off, being we communicate very well and I can talk to him, I found out that he called me a liar to some other employees. I confronted him about it and he turned around and said that I stretched the truth and that he didn't say that at all that I was a liar. Which on this specific happening, I did NOT lie or stretch the truth.
He is very hot headed, doesn't care about anybody's feelings, and his out look is, "so what if you quit, I can replace you and the store will go on."
Any advice? Should I just give him the cold shoulder?
By the way, my husband has always done favors for him, helping him out and my husband is furious about this.
Oh yes, I am in the process of looking for a new job.

I got a voicemail from the first place I applied to saying I have the job if I want it, and I want to call back tomorrow...problem is I don't know what to say, I really would rather work for them (they seemed more professional, and it's closer), but the pay is less than the second place I applied to (which should call back soon, as soon as the background check goes through). It's a difference of about 3 bucks an hour...what do I tell them tomorrow?

Like I hear from people that they suppose to find u a job. I apply to a couple of agencies and they seem to don’t want to help you. Well they make look like they want to help you. Tell you to go in for test and watching video. After that they give you a different job one completely different from the one you apply for. Plus they want to pay you as little as possible. Or sometimes they just call you and tell you have no experience. Like I didn’t know that. That’s why I apply to the agencies in the first place. Anyone have similar experience with these kind of agencies????

I'm really really confused and I could take a career assessment test but it's 200.00 where I live... I'm nineteen years old and I love animals but Vet Tech's only make 10.00 an hour. Whereas if I became a Dental Assistant I could possibly be looking at more than 10.00 and I'd have job stability probably. But my real passion is animals. What would be best to do? Go to school to be a Vet Tech or do the Dental thing?

I have a nasty suboridinate whom I inherited from previous manager. He occasionally disobeys in front of others; spreads misinformation; demoralises other staff; leaks dept info; criticises everyone. Truly a pain in the ***. Being an oldie in the organization, he claims to have easy access to top management and threatens colleqgues with dire consequences. How can I get rid of this person (transfer or termination of employment). Any Tips.
