I know what I want to say in the letter, but I am having difficulty finding a good introduction sentence. Should I be bold or reserved in my introduction statement? I am sending my resume to a company that offers an admintrator in training program (healthcare).

If you know the person's name then start with Dear Mr. Doe, or whatever the name is. If not, then use Dear Sir or Madam or To Whom It May Concern. Just like in a report or essay, your introduction sentence is to sum up what the letter says. You could say something like, "I am quite interested in the administrator in training program that you are offering, let me introduce myself." (Make sure you do spell check because you spelled administrator wrong in your question and you don't want to do that in your letter.)

It's the same way you would start any letter. Tell them why you are writing to whomever you are writing to. I usually say "Enclosed please find my resume for your review. I am interested in applying for the xxxxx position your organization posted on "Monster.com" recently. As you can see I have several qualifications you are seeking for this position."
Then go onto the next paragraph and explain your qualifications, etc.

Try to get the name of the person you'll be sending it to. It makes it more personal then start your cover letter with Dear so-and-so, make it look like you did your homework.
