I moved into a newly build house and when I moved I registered for gas and electricty with Southern Gas and Electric. However as the house was on a plot of land which used to have another postcode and now has a new postcode things went wrong and I got a letter from British Gas that I am their customer. I called SGE and they said it was a mix up and was now corrected I just had to raise the matter with BG (house.co.uk) I emailed then now 4 times and never get any reply (I refuse to call them 0845 as I refuse to pay for a phonecall to correct their mistake) if in the future they make a fuss about it could I be registered with a ccj or something like that? I kept all the correspondance as proof but i am so fed up with them i am not wasting any more time on it.

I'd like to put aside some money every month (under £250) - would I be better off with an ISA or a monthly saver? Have seen alliance and leicester do monthly savers with 12% apr but would I get taxed loads on this? Would it still be better to have a tax-free Isa instead even though they have lower apr's?

I've had 2 emails recently delivered to bulk asking for bank details and a PIN number! These are in US format and ARE NOT FROM EBAY. If the message has not also been delivered to your Email message account it is not from them. The info from Ebay help states that they will never ask for personal details in an email. Beware.

Me and my partner booked a holiday earlier in the year with our 2 year old daughter to go to Albufeira in October. Then a few months back we were told we were able to get a mortgage (which we never thought we would be able to do) so now we move in on 29th September.
My partner is self-employed so not only do we have to find the spending money to go away with, he also loses out on a weeks wages (and then having to still pay the mortgage).

What can we do to get out of going on the holiday and getting some, possibly all, of our money back.

What sort of "illness" could the doctor say we had that would hold up with us not being able to travel.

like lets say you put $1,000,000 in a savings and the interest rate is 1%, that would be $10,000. would you get the $10,000 each month or do you just get $10,000 at the end of the year. cause if you got it each month then you'd get $120,000 in interest by the time the year is up, if not each month then yearly it would only be $10,000.
how does that work? can you collect each month or just yearly?
