I am thinking about purchasing life insurance as a long term investment and as a potential way to borrow money off the policy in the next 10-15 years.

I want to work from home. I have been looking at some leads I was given, but all of them require me to pay the company in order for me to work. I don't want to do that...it seems like a scam to me.

I am interested in Medical Billing, Data Entry, Medical Transcription...

I have a certificate in Medical Billing and Reception from a community college if that is helpful.

Any GOOD leads or suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you!

My friend has rented the same apartment for 7 (!!!) years. When he moved in, the carpet was very bad, and the landlord said that he will change it soon... Well, it has been 7 years, and he has not done it! My friend talked to him several times, but there is no point in that. The last time he spoke with the landlord, he said: If you want it changed, hire someone and you will have your new carpet.
It is not fair, because my friend should not pay for rent and the new carpet that he might not enjoy long.
Is there an agency that my friend could turn to for this problem? Is there anything that he can do besides talking to the landlord?

I only had 9 hours of overtime for the month when I requested more and a total of 15 hours for the month. Since then, a person has been hired to help me and another is expected within the month. She made the remarks in front of a coworker and I was really taken by surprise. The majority of people who work overtime have more than I do! (We're in the midst of recruiting more people.) I put it on the back burner so I would not say or do anything rash, but I am really unhappy about it and evidently there are alot of people who think it is hilarious.

I will continue working and I am healthy. If I wait until I am 70 I will get $800 more per month than if I take it at my eligible age of
65 and 8 months. Two of my financial adivsors said wait until\
70 and two said, of course, take it now. So I am confused how
to resolve this dilemma.

I don't know what to do...I just received two letters saying that either i'm being sued or a judgement has been entered against me from a creditor that i don't know and for an amount that i don't owe. I was never served any papers to appear in court nor have I received any collection notices for this amount. I don't know what to do...i don't want them to garnish my check or take any money out of my bank accounts. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

TIA!

Business Week had a very informative cover article in the current edition titled "How Toxic is Your Mortgage?"

It talked about so-called deceptive loans, phantom profits and the coming wave of defaults. I'm still trying to figure out why I should feel sorry for people who got themselves into risky ARM's, interest only loans, etc. but I digress.

At some point, reality will set in. And it's gonna be ugly. And the ugliness will be directly proportional to the irrational price rise and the levels of denials in homeowners that anything is wrong with the market.

It's like 1999-2000 all over again, except this time the pain is on Maple Street, not Wall Street.
