I have been at this company for almost 2 years now. Since I started, the company has undergone significant changes. We have a new CEO (General Manager) and a new Marketing Officer who are firing people (hardworking and dedicated) left and right. This includes our Operations Manager of 5 years who was more or less a prodigy. She was extremely hardworking and as dedicated as one can be! She, along with my boss both either terminated their employment or got fired! Out of 30 people that worked for us last year only 9 returned! That number has probably dropped by now since 4 others have quit recently. These two new women are trying to turn our sports arena into a "county club like atmosphere" which is ridiculous! The CEO came up to me Memorial Day asking me what I do. I felt like I was cornered and felt a bit offended. I told her but since these others have quit, she's asking THAT question again! Should I quit? This is not what I have gone to school for. I can do better elsewhr

I have two interviews tomorrow for a job, the first interview is for this job at this hotel, and the second one is for this phone operator for this insurance company at this hospital. Of course I would love to work at the hospital bcs I am sure they pay more, but I don't know if I even qualify bcs I have no real experience with the medical field, I do have a lot of customer service experience and that might help me get the job. But, the question is... Should I tell the hotel manager that I have another interview later tomorrow and that I am interested in that job too? Or should I just play it cool... and accept his job offer and see what happens with my other interview? And if I do that and I get the hospital job, should I let the hotel manager know that I am not going to accept his offer after all? Thanks for any advise you can give me. Ciao.

Last week, I went to the post office to change my address. I was SHOCKED when the postal worker told me, it was not necessary to show any proof of identity to do so. Are you kidding me? She didn't ask for my state id, driver's license, NOTHING. I filled out a postcard and that was it.

With the all the identify theft going on today, am I the only person surprised about this? Or is it possible the postal worker didn't know what she was talking about?

If you change your address online, you are required to provide a credit card with your name, but in person NO ID IS REQUIRED???? That's nuts!!!

I'm sure this sounds stupid, but I'm looking for ideas to earn some extra money before school starts next month. I don't really want a "regular" job because I would have to quit so soon after being hired and because I have no one to take care of my daughter. I was thinking about selling my blood, but that seems so wrong. I'm not opposed to GIVING blood, but SELLING it? That's just not right. But I digress...

Does anyone have any ideas about extremely short-term jobs, etc. that I could do for cash until the end of August?

Serious answers only, please.

I don't believe oil came from dead dinosaurs. I think it came from the decaying of dead vegetation. If so, why can't we produce it in the laboratory? Then we could have big factories spewing out the stuff. Energy crisis GONE: Trade deficit GONE: Overpopulation GONE (By not teaching the Chinese and Indians how to drive their new cars, and just turn them loose: That's how!).

I run a small graphic design/web business. I took on a small nonprofit theatre that is under new ownership and striving to make a comeback. They had a hideous 1 page website, and needed a new one. I agreed to do it for them at a reduced hourly fee, partially to build my business and also for the exposure (on their web site, in playbills, referrals from them, etc...). February's invoice took 2 1/2 months for payment. I submitted a small invoice to them in Mid June ($250) for web site updates and maintenance. I faxed it and emailed it a few times, but have not received any response from them at all. I tried to call today, and left a message. About mid-June, when I last heard from them, they said that they wanted to add Flash and jazz things up. I told them that it would cost more money (and time) then what they were paying me, and we could renegotiate. I also noticed that someone else has been updating the website. Is there any way that I can collect, or do I write this off on my taxes?

Hello, I saw this add on CraigsList. It talks about using your paypal account to make money. It says that if you follow the directions and donate only 10 dollars, then you'll be able to make money. It all sounds really great, but it really seems too good to be true. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Has anyone heard of this? If so, have you tryed it and what do you think of it? Thanks!
